How much DEF will I use — and how often do I top up?
DEF usage is predictable and easy to plan. Cars and vans typically use 3–5% as much DEF as diesel, while trucks and heavier vehicles use 4–8%. For most car drivers, a single bottle covers a full service interval. For trucks, it’s a more regular top-up.
Cars & SUVs
Approx. 1–2 L per 1,000 km. A single 20 L NitroPure pack typically lasts one to two full service intervals (10,000–30,000 km). Top up when you see the warning light or at your next service.
Vans & Light Commercial
Approx. 1.5–3 L per 1,000 km. A 20 L NitroPure pack covers most light-commercial service cycles. For high-mileage fleets, 200 L drums reduce top-up frequency.
Heavy Trucks & Buses
4–8% of diesel consumption — significantly more than cars. A long-haul truck can use up to 2,500 L of DEF per year. NitroPure is available in 1,000 L IBC totes for depots and businesses that go through larger volumes.
